Crazy for Summer Readathon // Wrap Up

All done with the Crazy for Summer Readathon which was really successful. I finished nine books in total although I did finish the tenth after midnight. I'm pretty happy I got through all those books. But first, here are the results for the daily challenge yesterday:

There is danger in dreaming. But there is even more danger in waking up.

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.

The trick with found things though, is how easily they can be lost.

Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislea…

Crazy For Summer Readathon // End of the Line

Today is the last day of the Crazy for Summer Readathon and I need one more book to complete my goal of ten books. I fell in love with a series today and a couple more along the way. What am I going to do with myself?

Crazy For Summer Readathon // Rec Me

I'm five days in and I still have three more books to read. I wanted to surpass my goal, but if I can read ten books I'll be really happy. I've been really lucky in that I've enjoyed all of my books and most of them have been four or five star reads. How about you?
Books Started: The Heist Society by Ally Carter UnBreakable by Kami Garcia
When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her on a trip to the Louvre…to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria…to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own—scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving “the life” for a normal life proves harder than she’d expected.

Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring Kat back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has a good reason: a powerful mobster has been…

Crazy For Summer Readathon // Guess Who?

I had a nice day reading by the pool and swimming some laps. I wish I would have read just one more book, but I'm sure I'll be reading into the night.

How is everybody doing with their reading?

Books Started: The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Crazy for Summer Readathon // Are There Even Words to Describe You?

Okay, so I'm almost halfway through my list of goals and I'm pretty proud of myself. I also realize that I need to post my achievements in order to get cool little pics from the Crazy For Summer Readathon Hosts Tessa and Max. My goal is to try to read three books tomorrow. If only I would wake up early. I might be able to do it since I finished off I Was Here after midnight.

I hope everyone is having fun reading up a storm!

Books Started: Huntress by Malinda Lo I Was Here by Gayle Forman

Nature is out of balance in the human world. The sun hasn't shone in years, and crops are failing. Worse yet, strange and hostile creatures have begun to appear. The people's survival hangs in the balance.

To solve the crisis, the oracle stones are cast, and Kaede and Taisin, two seventeen-year-old girls, are picked to go on a dangerous and unheard-of journey to Tanlili, the city of the Fairy Queen. Taisin is a sage, thrumming with magic, and Kaede is of the earth, without a spe…

Crazy Summer Readathon // Sending My Love

The second day of the Crazy Summer Readathon is over and I'm feeling competitive. I'm participating in this team challenge on Goodreads and I really want to back up my team and read a colossal amount of books this week so things are going to start getting crazy.

So many thanks for your compliments on my poem!
Books Started: You Are Here by Jennifer E. Smith The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg

Emma and her neighbor Peter are both lonely in a way that only bothers them on occasion. They both come from families they don't quite understand. They both feel like something big is missing from their lives and they're both about to search for answers. When Emma makes a discovery that shakes the foundations of her identity, she convinces Peter to join her for a road trip. Each of them has something to find: For Emma, it is a grave, a grave that may be her only connection to her family. Peter is seeking something harder to define, but perhaps easier to navigate free…

Crazy Summer Readathon // Fangirling

The first day of the Crazy Summer Readathon was a day full of family, books, and swimming. I hope all of you who celebrated Father's Day had a great day and even if you didn't I hope you had a lovely day nonetheless.
I got to participate at my first twitter event ever! It went really well and I had a nice chat about books and I'm even buddy reading with Tess @ Crazy for YA and Sarah @ YABookaholic.
Books started: Jumping Off Swings by Jo Knowles
One pregnancy. Four friends. It all adds up to a profound time of change in this poignant, sensitively written YA novel.

Ellie remembers how the boys kissed her. Touched her. How they begged for more. And when she gave it to them, she felt loved. For a while anyway. So when Josh, an eager virgin with a troubled home life, leads her from a party to the backseat of his van, Ellie follows. But their "one-time thing" is far from perfect: Ellie gets pregnant. Josh reacts with shame and heartbreak, while their confidan…

Crazy for Summer Readathon Introduction

First of all, it's father's day and for all of you are celebrating I hope you have a lovely day. I've been waiting for the Crazy for Summer Readathon for what seems like forever because there hasn't been any real notice of readathon's during summer until this one. Summer classes are over and I'm a free woman which means all my time will be devoted to reading and reviewing. So without further notice let's get started introducing myself:

Two Truths and a Lie
1) I read books while I take notes in class. 2) I read books while I watch TV. 3) I read books while I ride in a car.
Which is the lie?

Daily Challenge: Getting to Know Me!

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Cycle #1. Scholastic Press (Sept. 2012) Library
Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue never sees them--until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her.

His name is Gansey, a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul whose emotions range from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She doesn't believe in true love, and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinis…
